Complete Bathroom Renovations in Adelaide
One point of contact from demolition to handover. Fixed price, no surprises, workmanship guaranteed.
Our Approach to Bathroom Renovation in Adelaide
A complete bathroom renovation is one of the most significant home improvements an Adelaide homeowner can undertake. Done well, it adds measurable value to your property and transforms a room you use twice a day. Done poorly, it creates cascading problems — leaking showers that rot subfloors, drummy tiles that crack six months later, waterproofing that fails behind walls you can't see.
At Barco Build, our approach to a complete renovation is systematic and transparent. Every project begins with a free on-site visit where Ryan personally takes measurements, assesses the existing plumbing configuration, and understands what you want to achieve. If you want a freestanding bath but the space won't comfortably accommodate one, we say so. If your plumbing is positioned in a way that requires significant cost to relocate for only a marginal layout improvement, we tell you that too. Honest scoping before the quote, not unpleasant surprises after work begins.
The fixed-price quote covers every element of the renovation — demolition and waste removal, waterproofing to AS 3740, all tiling, fixture and fitting installation (shower, bath if included, vanity, toilet, tapware), electrical (lighting and exhaust fan), plumbing connections, and a final professional clean. The number you approve is the number you pay, with the only exception being genuinely unforeseeable structural defects that couldn't be identified before demolition begins.
On site, Ryan manages the entire trade sequence under a single contract. Waterproofer, tiler, licensed plumber, licensed electrician — all coordinated in the correct order, with each stage inspected before the next begins. This is how you get a bathroom that looks exceptional on the day it's handed over and still performs reliably five years later.
We work across all Adelaide suburbs, from character homes in Norwood and Unley where compact rear-addition bathrooms need creative solutions, to larger established homes in Burnside and Glenelg where premium specification and multi-bathroom coordination are the brief. Every home is different. Every quote is specific to that home.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most standard bathroom renovations take 2–3 weeks from demolition to final handover. Larger bathrooms or those requiring significant plumbing relocations may take 3–4 weeks. During your consultation we'll give you a realistic timeline specific to your project — and we honour it.
Not usually. If your home has a second bathroom you can use, most people stay put. We contain the work area, lay floor protection, and clean up at the end of each day. If the main bathroom is the only bathroom in the home, we'll discuss timing and phasing options with you during consultation.
Our fixed-price quote covers all labour, waterproofing, tiling, fixture installation (shower, bath, vanity, toilet, tapware), electrical (lighting and exhaust fan), and final clean. Fixtures and tiles are either supplied by us or by you — we'll clarify which items are in-scope at quoting stage. The only exclusions are hidden structural defects that couldn't be identified before demolition.
Yes, absolutely. Many clients enjoy sourcing their own tiles, tapware, and fixtures to get exactly the look they want. We'll give you the exact specifications you need (tile size, fixture rough-in dimensions) and install whatever you supply — as long as it meets Australian Standards. We'll also advise on quantities so you don't over- or under-order.
Our workmanship warranty covers defects in the installation work — including tiling, waterproofing, plumbing connections, and electrical work. It does not cover damage caused by misuse or normal wear and tear. Manufacturer warranties on fixtures and fittings are separate. We'll provide written warranty documentation at handover.
Tile selection depends on three factors: the aesthetic you're after, the size of the room, and whether the tile is for a floor or wall. In smaller bathrooms — common in Adelaide's inner-eastern and inner-southern suburbs — large-format tiles (600×600mm or larger) with minimal grout lines make the space feel bigger. For character homes, warm-toned stone-look tiles in travertine or warm grey complement the heritage feel better than stark whites. We can advise on tile selection during consultation, and we're familiar with what the major Adelaide tile suppliers carry so we can help you shortlist options that suit your budget and brief.
A renovation typically means a complete strip-out and rebuild — new waterproofing, new tiles, new fixtures. A refurbishment might mean resurfacing or repainting existing fixtures, re-grouting, and updating tapware without a full demolition. We do both, but we always recommend renovation over refurbishment when waterproofing is more than 15 years old or when tiles are showing movement. Short-term savings on a refurbishment can cost more in the long run if waterproofing failure follows.
